About 300 kids had a go at mountain biking at the Meridian Energy Kids Bike Jam held in Palmerston North in May. It is so awesome seeing so many kids having fun on a bike.

For the doubters, Manawatu does have something going for it. It's not always windy and cold, in fact we even get sunshine and blue skies.
Our Sunday drive had plenty of lovely rural views and beautiful blue skies. Check out more photos in the Manawatu photo album.

OK, well I admit, I like things about bikes and quite fancied this display at the local shop while shopping tonight... thats right special privileges for some of us.
Actually we were lucky enough to have the local shop owner do a talk about bike maintenance for our junior development squad. And I had fun afterwards photographing some of the displays. Thanks Phil.

Another night, another town, well city. Palmerston North, venue: the city square. Councils spend thousands on statues and sculptures which we often take no notice of. This one highlights a history of local Maori, Te Peeti Te Awe Awe, the chief of Rangitane, born 1820, died 1884. He's looking out over the city.
